She Had Itchy Red Bumps All Over Her Skin, But Had No
Idea It Was Because Of THIS
The word “gluten” has almost taken
on a life of it’s own in our modern world, thought of as the root of all
dietary problems and something that many people have now decided to avoid
entirely. But refusing to eat gluten is more than just a fad, despite the fact
that pretty much every “trendy” person you know is now pushing the idea.
Gluten intolerance is very real, and
for people with the real, medically-diagnosed condition it is also incredibly
painful and bothersome. So many people these days are self-diagnosing
themselves are sensitive to gluten without having any real proof, so we decided
to collect all of the most common warning signs for you below. If any of this
sounds familiar to you, call your doctor right away.
1. Stomach Pain
The number one issue related to
gluten intolerance is stomach pain. When someone who can’t digest gluten
ingests it, their stomach literally doesn’t know what to do with the food. It
will produce gas, bloating, diarrhea and constipation. Letting this symptom go
untreated can lead to damage in the small intestine and poor absorption of the
minerals and vitamins your body desperately needs.
2. Dizziness
Lots of people with gluten
intolerance experience what is known as, “brain fog,” or a feeling of
disorientation. After eating foods containing gluten, things just feel, “off”
but the symptoms aren’t obvious, making the cause hard to place.
3. Mood Swings
Eating foods with gluten when you
are unable to digest it will lead to a feeling of irritability, anxiety or
sadness with little to no cause. Cut out the gluten, and your mood returns back
to normal.
4. Chronic Migraine
Many people suffer from chronic
migraines, yet few know how much of that is caused by gluten intolerance alone.
While not all gluten sufferers get headaches, more often than not a connection
is detected.
5. Itchy Skin
If your stomach isn’t digesting
gluten as it should, your intestines will get inflamed. This will result in
skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, or even just occasional bouts of
itchy skin.
6. Fibromyalgia
This chronic condition only occurs
in about 4 percent of U.S. people, but those who are unfortunate enough to
suffer from it live with widespread pain in their muscles, ligaments and
tendons. According to many health professionals, simply avoiding gluten can
help to alleviate the symptoms within days.
7. Chronic Fatigue
If your body isn’t getting the
nutrients it needs because it isn’t digesting gluten, it makes sense that you
would be tired. So if you have been more exhausted than usual lately, make sure
to check your diet for anything out of the ordinary.
8. Lactose Intolerance
This may come as bad news, but a lot
of the time lactose intolerance is itself a symptom of gluten intolerance. If
you know you are gluten intolerant, chances are you have been checked for a
gluten sensitivity. If stomach issues persist, try laying off the grain-based
stuff entirely.
